Chelsea have struck a deal to sign 17-year-old Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian, a report has revealed.
The Blues agreed personal terms with Estevao, nicknamed ‘Messinho’, earlier this month before a bid worth €57m (£49m) was knocked back by Palmeiras.
Now, however, The Athletic state Chelsea and Palmeiras have reached a verbal agreement over a deal to bring Estevao to Stamford Bridge when he turns 18 in 2025.
The report claims Chelsea will pay “at least” €34m (£29m) up front, with a further €23m (£20m) in performance-related add-ons.
Ben Jacobs states that Chelsea’s offer sits at €65m, which would make it the most valuable sale from a South American side ever – eclipsing the €60m Palmeiras secured from Endrick’s upcoming move to Real Madrid.
Chelsea had been keen on Endrick and see Estevao as a similar talent, and after missing out on the former, those in charge at Stamford Bridge refused to lose out on the young winger’s signature.
